Ladestown
Riding Stables provide horse, pony trekking holidays just on the
outskirts of Mullingar, Westmeath, Ireland.
Ladestown
House stands on a site that has been occupied for at least 2500
years, sadly only ruins now remain. However, these ruins have been
transformed into a terrace garden, showing details of the original
structures, and its well-preserved fine stone courtyards into a
residence and stables.
Now the home of Bryan and Toni Peters and their family, whose passion
for horses maintain a tradition at Ladestown, with the sounds and
echoes of the stable yards and horse shoes ringing on the cobbles,
that has continued since the Norman Knights kept their chargers
here in 1237, and before.

It is from this historic and romantic setting overlooking Loch Ennell
that Toni and Bryan Peters offers an equestrian experience to suit
both novice and more experienced riders.
Breeding racehorses, hunting,
eventing (military), children's' ponies, and competing at all levels,
horses have indeed been our lives. Its hard work, but dedication
has its reward and we have had the odd winner, and along with our
children, Angus, Andrew and Philippa, a lifetime of fun. Over the
years we have collected a number of horses and ponies that we could
never part with and so began our Riding School. |

Accompanied
rides to the lake or woodlands, or, for those who prefer, more formal
lessons from qualified instructions on their extensive all weather
facilities, show jump or cross-country fences. Nervous riders, beginners
and children treated with understanding, and horses and ponies as
friends. Ladestown is a registered riding school with A.I.R.E.,
having been inspected with reference to set safety standards and
conditions and we are Bord Failte approved
